The Stations of the Cross liturgy depicts the scenes of Jesus passion while making his way to Calvary. It began in the 15th Century by the Roman Catholic Church which were based on pilgrimages on which early Christians took to trace the steps of Jesus as they visited the Holy Land.
Today, many liturgical churches have adopted and adapted the liturgy to local conditions. You may wish to try it by designing your own liturgy. Print the various scenes of the stations found on the internet. Hang them throughout the sanctuary, spacing them apart for walking distances. It is a moving experience to walk through the various stations, praying at each station and contemplating the passion that Jesus suffered for us.
